In general, dog owners like you want a calm, obedient and faithful dog. The reasons are many, but for one thing, obedient and trained dogs are generally happier more content dogs, and far less likely to have an altercation with people or fight with other dogs. Moreover, many communities require that the dogs living in their neighborhoods be well trained and thus well mannered. There is an enhanced focus on many breeds typically considered aggressive and exhibiting behavior problems – for example dog breeds like pit bulls and rottweilers.
Not forgetting that training your dog well also makes he or she a much better companion, especially in households where there are young children. Studies have revealed that suitable dog training makes a huge impact when it comes to reducing the number of dog bites and other behavior problems come across by dog owning families.
When you make the decision to train your own dog, or have someone else help you train it, there are a number of basic commands that must be mastered in order for a dog to be considered truly trained. These basic commands are explained in great detail in “How To Train Your Dog In One Evening”, but check back here from time to time and I will explain them further.
